A visit to the idyllic farm of Bruno Vollenweider impressively shows how carefully and professionally the concept of “animal welfare” is lived here every day. Together with Lucas Oechslin, co-owner of LUMA, the passionate breeder and farmer introduces us to the world from which we also source our Handselected Swiss Pork. The animals here have permanent outdoor access and more space than in conventional barns. In addition, the feed with which Vollenweider supplies his animals comes “exclusively from Swiss mills,” says the Aargau farmer Vollenweider proudly. This is Swissness that goes far beyond being just a label.
